As opposed to the name, this museum does not explain the Peruvian financial system but it exhibits collections of archaeological and artistic pieces from pre-Hispanic cultures. It is organized into 3 floors; on the ground floor there are archaeological pieces of the Moche, the Chimu, the Chan Chan and the Chavin culture, on the first floor, different objects of the Andean culture and on the second floor, paintings, principally dating from the 19 century.
